Scope of Supply
As a turnkey contractor, EPI provided the fuel receiving, storage, drying and conveying systems and the steam generation system. The facility included a 100 MBtu/hour fluidized bed gasifier and 60,000 pounds per hour boiler.
The fluid bed unit, fueled by wood waste dried to approximately 25% moisture content, produces a low Btu gas (160 Btu/SCF) that is fired directly in the boiler. Steam from the boiler at 425 psi, 825 F is used to drive a 6 MWe turbine generator.
This installation was the first wood waste gasifier/boiler system producing steam for power generation in the United States.
